0852 - Dorian Bay: Port Lockroy and Goudier Island

Antarctica, Dorian Bay: Port Lockroy is south of Dorian Bay. You can see it if you walk up the hill from the Dorian Bay landing site.

Port Lockroy is a bay forming a natural harbour on the north-western shore of Wiencke Island. Port Lockroy is also the Antarctic base with the same name, situated on Goudier Island in this bay. It includes the most southerly operational post office in the world. In 1996, the Port Lockroy base was renovated and is now a museum and post office operated by the United Kingdom Antarctic Heritage Trust.
